Improving early case detection in leprosy: Reports from recent workshops

چکیده
Early case detection is now seen as one of the most important tasks for leprosy programs. It can improve experience people who develop disease, early treatment prevents many complications that frequently occur in whose diagnosis delayed. also an factor efforts to prevent ongoing transmission, reduces spread close contacts. Perhaps more importantly, it provides a platform appropriate management those contacts, whom clinical disease be prevented significant proportion by post-exposure prophylaxis. This Editorial reflects on two recent conferences, organized Global Partnership Zero Leprosy (GPZL) research needs related detection, and second run ILEP practical aspects promoting field. With developments mapping prophylaxis (PEP), we have tools greatly case-finding work towards zero leprosy.
